1. Information we collect

Account information

Name, email address, class/grade, and education board, provided when you register or update your profile.

Study content

The subjects, lessons, notes, tags, routines, and goals you create; your review history and ratings; flashcards and worksheets you generate or write; and your conversations with the AI Study Tutor.

Usage and progress data

Study session timings, streaks, points, badges earned, and daily counts of AI feature usage (Notes, Worksheets, Flashcards, Tutor messages) — used to enforce your plan's limits and to power your Mastery and Analytics pages.

Billing information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, your subscription status, billing period and transaction history. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details — payments are processed entirely by Razorpay (see "Third-party services" below).

Support messages

Anything you send us through the Contact page or in-app Support tickets, including your name and email if you contact us as a guest.

2. How we use this information

• To operate the core service — storing your lessons, computing your review schedule, and showing your progress.
• To generate AI content on your behalf (see below) when you use AI Notes, Worksheets, Flashcards, or the Tutor.
• To personalize the AI Tutor's replies using your real study data (streak, overdue reviews, weak lessons, goals) so its guidance is relevant rather than generic.
• To process subscription payments and enforce plan limits.
• To send in-app notifications (review reminders, streak milestones, billing alerts) and respond to support requests.
• To maintain the security and reliability of the Service, and to diagnose bugs.

3. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. We share only what's necessary for each to do its job:

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — when you generate AI Notes, Worksheets, Flashcards, or chat with the Tutor, the relevant lesson content and your message are sent to Anthropic's API to produce a response. Anthropic processes this content to generate output; refer to Anthropic's own privacy policy for how they handle API data.
• Razorpay — subscription payments are handled entirely by Razorpay, a licensed payment processor. We receive only a payment status and reference ID, never your full payment details.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any purpose.

4. Cookies & sessions

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a CSRF token to protect form submissions. These are strictly functional — we don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, so your study history and streaks stay intact. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us through the Contact page and we'll process the request. Some records (e.g. completed transactions) may be retained longer where required for accounting or legal purposes.

6. Students & minors

Smart Study Planner is built for school and college students, some of whom may be under 18. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

7. Your rights

You can review and update most of your information directly from your Profile page at any time. For anything else — access, correction, export, or deletion of your data — reach out via the Contact page.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app.
